About us
Multicultural Marthas is the first-ever English-speaking Martha association in Finland. We were officially established in April 2025 to bring a multicultural twist to the long-standing Martha tradition. Our goal is to make Martha activities accessible to all international and internationally minded residents of the Helsinki Metropolitan area and Uusimaa region.
Our association welcomes everyone who is interested in hands-on activities that celebrate community, nature, food and culture. These activities are grounded in the Martha values of sustainable living, the joy of working together, and openness. Joining us is a great way to learn more about Finnish culture as well as the diverse cultures our members represent while also sharing your own. Could this be your new favorite hobby?
As a member association of the national Martha Organization (Martat in Finnish), we are a member of a well-established Finnish nonprofit which has promoted home economics, sustainable living, and civic engagement since 1899. With over 38,000 members across Finland, the Martha network is active, diverse, and open to all.
What we do

Shortly about Marthas
Our association is a part of the Martha Organization (Martat in Finnish). The Martha Organization is a national nonprofit in Finland with a long tradition of empowering people with everyday life skills. Founded in 1899, the Marthas focus on home economics, sustainable living, and community well-being. The organization provides guidance on topics like cooking and nutrition, gardening, and smart consumer choices.
The Martha Organization hosts nationwide events and campaigns that local associations participate in. These events are a great opportunity to get to know the members and activities of other associations.
In Martha associations, such as Multicultural Marthas, you can enjoy Martha activities in a friendly and welcoming group. There are over a thousand Martha associations all around Finland, and they organize a wide variety of activities, trips, courses, and events. Many Martha associations also hold bake sales, coffee events, and catering activities to raise funds for their operations.
